Update 06-13-04:
Every Sunday, Nyamo - The Girl From Across the Sea is updated. This is the actual, full page comic about Nyamo attending North Eastern JC.
The site is also updated every Thursday. Usually, this update is an Original Nyamo strip. Original Nyamo is a Four-Panel (top to bottom, much like this site in general) gag strip. Just a cute thing done for a quick laugh. If there isn't an Original Nyamo strip, then a random update, such as a character portrait or an artistic illustration, will be put up.

Well... it's been a year since Jed and I started this project, based off some random
doodles I did in Math class. Somehow we've sustained a small fan base, and have been
able to manage this comic for all this time (despite little gaps of time where the
site is accidentally neglected). I don't know what bigger comics like Megatokyo and
Penny Arcade do for their big events, but Jed and I felt that we should do something
special for ours. So I drew that special anniversary picture- and it wasn't easy.
The picture went through several drafts, during which I had to cope with some nasty
artist's block, after that I designed some special costumes for some of the
characters but ran short on time. Luckily my good friend and uber-Nyamo fan, Pat
(aka. Green Wiggly) over from Apple Continuum gave me some on-the-fly assistance
with an AWESOME costume design for the ever-popular Roxy. After that I spent about 5
hours penciling the pic but only 2 and a half inking it (that's kinda strange)!
. I wont go into coloring but that too was a struggle where I made it out by the
skin of my teeth. Anyway I think this piece turned out pretty nice. There will be a
version of this released a little later with a couple add on's, like a background
color and stuff but it's enjoyable enough for right now.
Also, some of you who actually care about the exploits of the Aswembar staff might
be glad to know, where as I was like Nyamo, stuck perpetually in the academic
abyss that is Community College, I have finally finished my courses there and can
finally go on to a University! (Though not till next year probably) So I'm excited
as heck about that! And one day, maybe Nyamo will make it there as well... well,
maybe sooner than we all think! Hmmm... Anyway, Nyamo is now one year strong, but
don't expect us to slow down. We're just getting started! Happy Birthday, Nyamo!

The past week was [exaggeration] miserable [/exageration]. I was in the lab seriously all day straight for about 5 days. All day means 9AM to 3AM! But I finished everything! And it all worked! haha... but the reason it was so depressing is that those were the nicest days San Diego has seen in the past year or so. So, while I was locked in the lab with sleep deprived code monkeys, tons of other people were out playing. Worst of all, all the girls were wearing their summer clothes... and I didn't get to see any of it. *sigh* I went outside to eat lunch and saw some girl in an extra short skirt. I looked behind her to see to asian guys a few feet behind her, joking and pretending to lift up her skirt. Ahh~~ the days of youth and workless days~~
Haha, seriously, I got off easy with good partners and a good understanding of my classes. Some people weren't nearly as lucky. When I came in at 9AM, I'd see some people waking up from their lined up chairs. One guy even brought a printer from home. haha, it was a big printer too.
And so, I wasn't able to keep things going for 10 weeks. Just go too tired to update, and I didn't realize that there weren't 10 weeks worth of normal nyamo. Here's wishing better luck next quarter!
